Ford Ironman Louisville- Sunday, August 26 at Fourth Street Live!; FREE; cheer on athletes as they compete in the world’s most difficult athletic challenges; the competition begins at 7am with a 2.4mi swim in the Ohio river, then a 112 mi bike ride, and finishes with a 26.2mi run that ends at Fourth Street Live!

Rock Around the Clock- Friday, August 24, 5-7pm; Free to the public; celebrate the re-dedication of the Louisville Clock at Theater Square with Mayor Greg Fischer

Kentuckiana’s Got Talent- Friday, August 24 at 8pm at RiverStage in Jeffersonville, IN; at this FREE event, your family will enjoy singers, dancers, a banjo player, and ballroom dancers

PeaWee Kiwi Popsicles


Today's recipe is courtesy of Louisville’s own Catherine McCord of weelicious.

Prep Time: 15 minutes  Total Time: 4 hours, 15 minutes
(makes 6)
  • 4 kiwis, peeled and chopped
  • 1/2 cup orange, apple or pineapple juice
  • 3/4 cup frozen peas
  • 6 dixie cups*
1. Place the kiwis and juice in a food processor and puree until smooth.
2. Place 2 tablespoons of peas in each Dixie cup.
3. Cover peas with kiwi puree and stir to evenly distribute peas.
4. Freeze pops for 4-6 hours or until frozen through.
* These can also be made in popsicle molds
