Have a Great Weekend!

For many of us, the beginning of Fall can only mean two things- football and... festivals!  Here are some great festivals and other events (one is even about NFL football!) that have made our list.  Enjoy!

Metro Parks will host a local qualifier for the national NFL Punt, Pass & Kick competition at Louisville Champions Park, 2050 River Road, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on September 21. Open to boys and girls ages 6 to 15.

Make Your Own Magnets

Even if you don't need a message board, there's always room for a few extra magnets to tack papers onto the fridge with, and we have a super easy way to make some custom magnets with your children.

The glass tiles and Mod Podge from Dee's are what make this little project simple and easy.

Plus, we love how you can write anything you want on your paper circles!  It really is as easy as 1...2...3!

Precious Peanut Goes to College

It’s a buzz-phrase at our house, a morality tale of what NOT to do.  Do NOT write something embarrassing – such as “Precious Peanut Goes to College” – on your rear window when you take your kid to move-in day.

I took my kid in August.  I didn’t write anything on my window, spill food on myself, or fall down.  We didn’t wrangle over how to set up her half of the room.  I didn’t wrangle with her roommate’s parents, either!

I over-think things, and so far I’ve thought of LOTS of emotional trap doors and pitfalls possibly awaiting me, so if they arose, I could recognize them and plow forward without falling in.  For example...
