What To Do This Weekend: Make It About Mom


Mother's Day is this coming Sunday, but why stop there? Why not make the whole weekend about Mom? Check out this weekend's events for things to do with Mom and the whole family!
  • Spend an afternoon at Locust Grove surrounded by flowers and fresh herbs at the 20th Annual Gardeners' Fair and Silent Auction.
  • Run wild this Saturday at the Louisville Zoo’s “Throo the Zoo” 5K Run/Walk.
  • "Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse" presented by StageOne Family Theatre at the Kentucky Center is a great way to entertain the kiddos for an afternoon.

  • Take Mom and the whole family to the Frazier History Museum to learn about some of history's most influential mothers.
  • For the moms and families who love baseball, Friday the Louisville Bats take on the Rochester Red Wings at Slugger Field. Be sure to stay and see the fireworks after the game. Also this weekend in baseball, it's Louisville vs. Florida State. Come watch as the No. 2-ranked Cards go up against the No.7-ranked Seminoles at Jim Patterson Stadium - for free!
  • Spring Fling Shopping in Nulu makes for a great afternoon outing for Mom. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, restaurants and retailers of the Nulu community will be offering discounts and special sales to shoppers.
  • March of Dimes: March for Babies is Saturday at 10 a.m. on the Big Four Lawn at Waterfront Park. Enjoy an easy 2-mile walk and family-friendly activities, all while supporting a great cause.
  • Catch Derby Dinner Playhouse's production of "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers" during its final weekend. Children's discount available Friday and Sunday evenings.
  • Learn how to square dance, play guitar or ride an electric bike this Saturday at the How-To Festival from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will take place at the Louisville Free Public Library - free, fun and educational for the whole family.
  • May 7-9 the Kentucky Science Center is celebrating coding. Try out Google Glass, enjoy a variety of interactive activities and see the future of programming. Free for members and with paid admission.
