Louisville is celebrating the 4th of July with a slew of activities for the whole family! Here are some activities to check out this weekend:
- Celebrate with the symphony this weekend at the Louisville Orchestra Waterfront 4th fueled by Thorntons. The event will take place on the Great Lawn at Waterfront Park and is free for all. Events begin at 5 pm with a kids play area, open bar, and gourmet food. At 8:15 activities will settle down to make way for the main event: a performance by the Louisville Orchestra, featuring conductor Teddy Abrams, cellist Ben Sollee, and Jecorey "1200" Arthur. Following the conclusion of the concert are celebratory fireworks over the Ohio River.
- The Mid-American Miniature Horse Club is coming to Kentucky Horse Park for the Julep Cup Show. Join them for their Event Evening Saturday, July 4th, to catch a variety of driving classes, Antique Vehicle Driving, and the Roadster Class and Senior Stallions. Not to mention beautifully dressed exhibitors and miniature horses. Showing will take place at Alltech Arena in Lexington, Kentucky.
- The magic continues at the Kentucky Science Center with the third film of the Harry Potter Summer Series, "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban." Showings are Friday and Saturday at 7 pm and Saturday and Sunday at 2 pm.
- Take the family out to Slugger Field this Friday for the Louisville Bats July 3rd Fireworks Extravaganza. After the Bats compete against the Clippers, enjoy a special display of pyrotechnics right from your stadium seats. Free Bats logo hats will be given to the first 2,000 fans through the gate! Gate opens at 5:45 pm with game time starting at 6:45 pm.
