Vacation Planning Made Easy

My family alternates big vacations (to the beach or Walt Disney World) and small vacations (Holiday World) every other year. Regardless of where we go or what we do, the first place I turn is...
...the Internet.

Facebook is where I go to seek friends‘ suggestions and vacation experience. I’ll put a general call out for their input on wherever it is my family is thinking of visiting. Often my friends will provide a website from their own successful rental or ticketing experiences that I then use, too. Years ago, a friend guided me to allears.net for tips on tackling the most magical place on Earth without losing life, limb, or our sanity. I’ve also used VRBO.com with great success when renting beach condos from individual owners.

When it comes to the nitty-gritty purchasing and packing, I still rely on good old pen and paper for jotting down items we need to bring. It reduces a tremendous amount of stress to cross items off my list once I have them safely stowed in the suitcases. I’m still working on a solution for remembering those last minute unusual items that get left behind in the busyness of the morning of departure (like the kids‘ sound machines for better sleep).

Trip preparations for a family of five are never easy, but I’ve learned that as long as I have our credit card, camera, and prescription medications, we are almost assured to have a good time.
