Not-So-Scary Decor

I have always loved Fall and Halloween. I love the cool weather that follows the heat of summer and the fun of slipping back into wrestling myself into jeans and long-sleeved tops. My husband and I even considered marrying on October 31 but decided to go with All Souls’ Day instead.

Having young children has made me realize that I am a “cute” Halloween person, rather than a “scary” Halloween person...
I like the sweet, smiley decorations in hues of amber, violet and rust, not the black and gray bulging eyes and evil grins of ravens and zombies. No macabre for me, thanks.

The kids concur with my choice of “cute” decor, although I wonder if they will change their minds as they grow up, deciding that cute is not cool. If they are anything like their momma (including the giant scaredy-cat part), they’ll always enjoy the sweet and simple of fall.

Are you a "scary" Halloween person or a "cute" Halloween person?  Tell us how you decorate, and email us your Halloween decoration pictures to miranda@todayspublications.com. Maybe they'll be featured here...
