Flags4Vets- Saturday, November 10 at Cave Hill Cemetery; volunteers needed to place flags on the graves of 6,700 U.S. veterans buried in the National Military Section
“Hello Neighbor” Community Event- Saturday, November 10, 11am-6pm at the Muhammad Ali Center; FREE community celebration of Louisville’s diversity and “people-to-people” connections featuring live entertainment, family activities, international foods, and more; Muhammad Ali Center exhibits are free from 11am-6pm (donations of blankets, shower curtains, alarm clocks, and more are requested for Kentucky Refugee Ministries)
North Beckley Creek Park Opening Day- Saturday, November 10 at 10am; FREE event open to the public; bring your bike, hiking boots, canoe, or kayak and take part in the celebrations;
Family Fun Workshop- Saturday, November 10, 10am-12pm at the Carnegie Center for Art and History in New Albany, IN; FREE workshop where the kids will make a log cabin bird feeder (bring 3-4 large twigs from your yard); pre-registration is required, so call 812.944.7336
- Hikes led by naturalist Michael Gaige and by The Parklands staff
- Paddling demonstrations on Floyds Fork (bring your own kayak or canoe)
- Fishing in William F. Miles Lakes (fishing license required)
- Fly fishing and fly casting demonstrations by Derby City Fly Fishers
- Light food/refreshments from our partners
- Trolley Tours of Beckley Creek Park
Louisville Veteran’s Day Parade- Sunday, November 11 at 2pm at 4th and Liberty Streets; a musical program begins at 1:30pm at 9th and Main; FREE
