Get Rid of Those Ants

When they come marching across the counter, remember it could be worse. They could be roaches. They’re not. They’re little black ants. Feel better? No, I didn’t think so.

We’ve had two mild winters, which means they’ll be back in bigger numbers this summer. Remember you heard it here first.

I’ve got the answer. It’s cheap, easy, and...
...it doesn’t contain pesticides. But still keep it out of reach of kids and pets just to be on the safe side.

I got it from Yankee Magazine, via my mother, so you know it works. You’re welcome.

Good Riddance, Ants!

1. Get some Borax. You’ll find it in the cleaning aisle, probably on the bottom shelf with the old-fashioned powdered detergent.
2. Combine 1 cup of confectioners' sugar and 1 cup of Borax in a jar or plastic container with a tight-fitting screw-on lid. Add just enough water to make a syrup. Shake well, and again before each use. Pour a bit in a lid, such as the kind that comes on a milk jug, and place it in the ant traffic area(s).

Breathe deeply and be patient while the ants find it and tell their friends, which might take a couple of days. You may have to repeat in a couple of weeks when a new generation of eggs hatch. Stay with it. You will win.
