Fun Cookies They'll Gobble Up

Nevermind what the fox says, we are talking turkey these days with fun treats you can make with your kids and grandkids. This craft/treat has been around for some time, but it’s new to us and our grandkids and maybe to you, as well. It is also a great way to use leftover Halloween candy!

Ingredients:
Oreo Doublestuff Cookies
Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups Miniatures
Candy Corn
Whoppers
Chocolate and vanilla icing

First, we inserted candy corns (5-6 are plenty) into one side of one Oreo cookie in a fanned out turkey feather pattern. If the candy corns seem to fall out easily, try adding some icing to help “glue” them solidly into place. Next, we stuck this Oreo together at right angles with another plain Oreo using chocolate icing and set them into a pan to dry. For the turkey belly, we cut slivers off of the ends of the Reese’s cups and frosted them into place on the same cookie containing the candy corn “feathers.”

Whoppers were placed on top of each Reese Cup as the turkey’s head, using icing to stabilize. On our Whopper turkey heads, we used a white tip from a candy corn for a beak, with the remainder cut in half lengthwise as our feet at the base of the Reese’s cup. White icing dots with an oreo cookie chip in the center create the eyes.

Refrigerate or freeze these when completed so that the icing dries and sets the candy pieces well into place.
