Is Your Child a Star?

Louisville’s Got Talent Auditions

What: Louisville’s Got Talent, a talent competition and showcase for Louisville youth, is gearing up for a second year following last year’s triumphant debut. Louisville’s Got Talent is for youth ages 7-18 who can sing, dance, act or play an instrument, or who have some other performing arts talent. It’s a unique opportunity for kids to showcase their performance skills, compete for cash prizes and entertain an audience in the Live Finale, which is judged by local celebrities, artistic professionals and a representative from Heyman Talent Agency

It’s also a fundraiser, created by 13-year-old Jake Latts, for CenterStage Acting Out. CenterStage Acting Out is a nonprofit, touring, children’s theater troupe that brings live musical theater into Louisville schools. Latts has an abiding passion for the performing arts and wants to make sure kids like him can have access to local theater.

“I want to raise money for Acting Out so other kids can be introduced to the arts and have the same wonderful experiences with theatre I have had in my first 13 years of life,” Latts said.

When: Registration for auditions is now open. Round 1 auditions are Sept. 7 at 3 p.m. The Live Finale is Sept. 21.

Where: Round 1 auditions are in the JCC dance studio and the Live Finale is in JCC auditorium, 3600 Dutchmans Lane, Louisville, Ky., 40205.

How: Go to jewishlouisville.org/jcc/centerstage/louisvilles-got-talent/ to register to audition, buy tickets to the Live Finale, donate to Acting Out, or become a sponsor of Louisville’s Got Talent.
