What To Do This Weekend: Discover Your Superpower!

It's gearing up to be a "super" weekend in Louisville! Check out the superhero-themed events happening around town, as well as other fun family activities:
  • The 2nd Annual Oldham County Comic Con, or OC3, is taking place this Saturday at the Oldham County Public Library. Meet guest artists, play games, win costume contests and more at this family-friendly event.
  • Join the Global Game Changers this Sunday at the Muhammad Ali Center for the 2nd Annual "Discover Your Superpower Event." Local organizations will teach kids how to make a difference in the community and help them discover their own unique superpowers through the GGC's "Superpower Equation."
Read on for more super weekend fun!
  • This Saturday, it's Family Fun Day at the Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft! This free event celebrates artists of all ages with take-home crafts, games, community art activities and more!
  • It's the final weekend of this year's Kentucky State Fair! Things are wrapping up, but it's not too late to enjoy the sights, smells and sounds that only the fair can offer. A fun-filled afternoon for the whole family!
  • Be a hero this Saturday at Splat Out Cancer -- launch paint-filled balloons onto a Market Street building in exchange for donations for cancer research. Enjoy food vendors, a kid's zone, meet health and wellness experts and more, all while supporting a great cause. And don't forget to support the little heroes that morning at CureSearch's Walk to End Children's Cancer on the Big Four Lawn!
  • See what the Highlands neighborhood has to offer this weekend at Highlands Fest 2015! Experience local food, music, and an assortment of activities for the kiddos. It's a block party the whole family can enjoy!
  • It's on to the next film in the Kentucky Science Center's Harry Potter Summer Series. Starting August 28, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1" will be showing through early September. Catch the magic before it's gone!
  • Nothing beats a night of family fun at Slugger Field! Come out this Friday as the Louisville Bats take on the Indianapolis Indians -- but don't take off after the last inning! A spectacular fireworks show to follow the conclusion of the game.
