What To Do This Weekend

This weekend brings opportunities for your family to try its hand at archery (for free!), learn about the wonders of water, catch a children's puppet show — and much more!

Check out these ideas for family fun this weekend:

  • Take in a spectacular view as the sun sets on the 4th annual Balloon Glow at Joe Huber Family Farm.
  • Trek out to Highview Park to see the Louisville Crashers as part of the free FridayFest concert series, complete with children's activities.

  • Educate your children on the importance of water in the world through fun activities at the Louisville Zoo's Water WOWS! event.
  • Older tweens and teens can enjoy a trip to see Hairspray outdoors by the river in New Albany, Indiana.

  • Get ready for laughs when Myron Noodleman visits the Louisville Bats (and kids eat free, too).
  • Visit downtown Bardstown for Sidewalk Sales & Summer Nights, featuring shopping, dining, live music, and classic cars on display.

  • Enjoy a free live performance of The Story of Ferdinand by the Squallis Puppeteers with a screening of the children's opera Where the Wild Things Are at the Kentucky Center.
  • Check out the last showing of the Cards Under the Stars movie season with Inside Out, or compete in the costume contest at the family movie night showing of Grease at the Farmers Market Pavilion in Louisville.

  • Hurry and get registered for the The Hosparus LUNAR 5k, a night-time event for superheroes of all ages.
  • And there's still time to catch Beauty and the Beast at Derby Dinner Playhouse.

Have a great weekend!
