Making a Difference with Dr. Seuss

“It's not about what it is, it's about what it can become.”
Dr. Seuss, The Lorax

As a community, we endured devastation at its worst last Friday.  However, we can turn this tragedy into something so much more, something greater than the destruction it brought, something profound that will change lives.

Helping someone in needs changes you.  It puts things into perspective, and makes you a better person.  When we become better people, the world becomes a better place in which to live.

I’m sure  when Floyd Central High School’s Theatre Department was preparing for this weekend’s performances, they had no idea that they would be able to be a conduit for helping those in need.  There was no way to predict that they would be accepting donations for the local chapter of the Red Cross to help a tornado-ravaged community.  No one expected that.

However, “it’s about what it can become.”

So, grab your kids and your wallet, and go make a difference while enjoying Seussical at Floyd Central High School.
