Protect Our Most Vulnerable

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month, and Family & Children’s Place is offering a series of activities in observance of it. To start it all off, on Thursday, April 5, at Louisville Slugger Field, you can join in on a rally at 10am to take a stand against abuse, violence, and neglect.

If you feel inclined to get your voice heard about child abuse...
...there are a couple of opportunities.  On April 17, at Stewart and Associates from 6-8pm, and on April 21, at 4th Avenue United Methodist Church from 2:30-4:30pm, there will be “Community Coffee Conversations” encouraging open dialogue about child abuse.

Of course, if you have a couple of hours, you could learn about the prevalence of child sexual abuse, warning signs, and how to report it by taking a “Darkness to Light” training session at a Louisville Free Public Library.

However, if you have time constraints, you could always go online (starting April 1st) and sign a “Pledge of Action” form on the Family & Children’s Place website here to commit to helping prevent abuse.

It’s our responsibility to help protect our most vulnerable ones every day.  As Dan Fox, President of Family & Children’s Place says, “Every month should be Child Abuse Prevention Month.  We should actively seeking ways to keep our children and families safer twelve months out of the year.”
