Happy “Extra Hour of Sleep” Weekend!


You know it’s going to be a great weekend when you get an extra hour of sleep, and you don’t even have to plan for it!

When you go to bed this Saturday night, be sure to set your clocks back an hour because Sunday, November 4, marks the end of Daylight Saving Time (DST).  It actually ends at 2am, but we’re pretty sure you’re not going to get up at that time and change your clocks.

So, here’s to a well-rested weekend and a couple of fun events! Enjoy!

First Annual Pumpkin Smashing Festival- Saturday, November 3, 1pm at Deere Farms in Lanesville, IN; bring your pumpkins to drop from a fifty foot high platform!



Playdate in Science in Play- Saturday, November 3, 8:30am-9:30am at the Kentucky Science Center; a FREE hour-long playdate in Science in Play for visitors ages 0-4 and their adult caregivers; no registration required

Junior Jockey Club and Family Fun Days at Churchill Downs- Each weekend during the live racing, there’s fun for the whole family with crafts, visits with Churchill Charlie, & more! Admission is $3 per person.
Saturday, 11/3- Junior Jockey ClubHorsing around in the JJC with a horse craft AND the Bubble Truck!
Sunday, 11/4- Family Fun Day“Industry Education Day” - professionals from within the industry will visit the JJC and speak with the kids. Plus story time with the Kentucky Derby Museum!
