Jump high in the month of July!


The month of July is HOT, so be sure to drink plenty of water and stay cool — in the pool! If you have access to a pool, incorporate these fun exercises with your family to help keep you in shape this summer. Exercising in the water is easy on the joints and gives great resistance to your muscles in a fun way.

Families, be sure to watch children at all times and make sure pool water is at chest level or below when performing these water exercises. A child’s neck needs to be above water at all times. Always make sure exercises are appropriate for your family before partaking.
  1. Do 25 jumping jacks in the pool.
  2. Do 25 tuck jumps in the pool. Try to bring both knees up at the same time and get them as high to your chest as possible.
  3. Start at one end of pool and jump to the other end of the pool. You can make it a fun competitive game, if you wish!
  4. Try split jumps in the pool standing in place. Jump and try to kick both legs out to the side 25 times. Your inner and outer thighs will get a great workout!
  5. Jump and pike 25 times. Sit and jump while bringing both legs together in front of you off the pool floor.
Wear sunscreen before you get wet and after. Drink plenty of fluids and get plenty of rest. Splish splash your way through July! Be safe and have fun!
